The L.C.G. - Galaic Celtic League - has as is main goal the preservation of the Celtic culture of Galiza and to maintain links with the other Celtic countries for the building of an unified pan-Celtic European movement, as Celtic culture in Europe must be preserved.
Galiza is one of the seven Celtic countries, lying in the NW corner of the Celto-Iberian peninsula, directly south of Eire. To the historical GALIZA, the Galaic territory, belongs a larger area that the actual Galiza. ( The two provinces of the North of Portugal, Minho and Trans-os-Montes, as well part of the actual Asturias, Leon and Zamora Spanish provinces.) The national language is the Galizan or Galeg, best know as the Galego-Portuguese to make clear that, even if a variant, it is the same language, no more different that the American’s English from the Great Britain’s English.
Galiza has conserved , by its remoteness and isolation in time, one of the most purest and oldest Celtic traditions of all the Celtic countries. Even if linguists talk about that its goidelic Celtic language has had it last speaker in the XVI century, the Celtic culture has remained strong as well adapted to its people and land.
This rainy and mountain country has conserved, by its geographic isolation and remoteness , in the culture , traditions ,costumes and way of life one of the most purest Celtic soul., refleted in its pure Celtic Music.
